Due to continued commercial success, they are looking to bring a scientifically minded Underwriting Analyst onboard to help continue their growth!Job descriptionIn this Insurance Analyst job for graduates, you will be trained and taught about all facets of liability insurance and its applications within the healthcare and life science sectors. This role will entail negotiation of policies as well as developing relationships with key industry stakeholder. Once trained, you will be contributing to the development and launch of a new product focused on Infectious Diseases. See the full responsibilities below:Key responsibilitiesIn this Insurance Analytical job in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding the underwriting of liability insurance, particularly from a healthcare/life science perspective
  • Developing relationships within both the Global Insurance and Healthcare Industries
  • Negotiating of insurance policies with brokers
  • Working with the Head of Underwriting to build and launch a new Infectious Disease Insurance product; this will involve:
  • Applying statistical and technical analysis to develop litigation and loss modelling
  • Analysing infectious disease exposures by industry
  • Establishing a new policy wording which is best in class and dedicated to the complexity of the exposure
  • Working with actuaries to develop a rating model
  • Presenting to capital providers on the exposures and strategy
  • Development of EEA product working in conjunction with companys EU office
  • Underwriting and administrative support to Heads of Underwriting
    • Job requirements
  • Educated to PhD or MSc level in life sciences (Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases and related fields preferred)
  • Keen interest in working in insurance / financial services jobs sector
  • Confident in liaising and negotiating with 3 rd parties
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Excel
  • Proactive, enthusiastic approach and a strong team player
  • Commercial experience in science/healthcare or finance services a plus
