Kent Fire & Rescue Service have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Assistant - Property and Facilities to join team based at our Service Headquarters, Tovil, Kent. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis in return for a competitive salary of £18,491 to £20,846 per annum.As our Facilities Assistant - Property and Facilities you will be integral to the delivery of a customer focused, efficient facilities service that looks to continually improve standards. Building on work done to date, the successful applicant will deliver a range of tasks identified by in-house surveyors, colleagues and external contractors. No two days are the same in this role, which reports directly into the Facilities Team Leader, with a wide variety of tasks being created primarily via the KFRS Property Helpdesk.Key responsibilities as our Facilities Assistant - Property and Facilities:- Daily/weekly/monthly statutory tests – e.g. fire alarms, legionella, generators- Use of the CAFM system to schedule works and ability to upload relevant documentation to the system- Support the Helpdesk as required to ensure the Property Team provide a high level of customer service- Movement of furniture in meeting/training rooms and general lifting and carrying for staff. Routine daily checks of meeting/training rooms (including between meetings/courses), toilet facilities and corridors, and occasional spot cleaning. Ensure rooms have correct equipment and resources.- Minor repairs and maintenance e.g. relighting boilers after power outage, bleeding radiators, un-blocking toilets, replacement of lightbulbs and putting up notice/whiteboards. Cleaning and maintenance of real fire training, and other training facilities and equipment.- Building and site management – cleaning/tidying compounds, stores and workshops, coning off car parks for meetings, tiding sites, etc. Clearing of footpaths and hard areas, and gritting when required.- Driving duties including CEO/management team/members and delivering documents when required. Collection, delivery, loading and unloading of pallets, which requires use of the prime mover and safe loading. Movement of training equipment between sites.- Assist in management of access control system. Take photographs, enter details on Salto database, print and issue new and replacement access cards. Reprogramming locks, replacement of batteries and updating for offline locks across portfolio.What we’re looking for in ourFacilities Assistant - Property and Facilities:- General knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation- General knowledge of the maintenance industry- Excellent verbal communication skills and good telephone manner- IT literate with experience of MS Office applications i.e. Word and Excel- Able to prioritise and organise own workload- GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent (Grade C or above)- IOSH Accreditation- Full UK Driving Licence including relevant classification to drive a prime mover- Full member of CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Site Access and Green CardIf you feel have the skills and experience to become one of our Facilities Assistant - Property and Facilities please click ‘apply’ today, we’d love to hear from you!Closing Date: Tuesday 23 June 2020 at 23.59 hours
