Job Description

Reed Accountancy & Finance is currently assisting a client in Tonbridge in their search for an immediately available individual to support their credit control team by helping to chase outstanding debts. While prior experience in credit control is not necessary for this role, exceptional customer service skills and excellent telephone etiquette are essential.This temporary role is an excellent chance for accountancy & finance graduates or those seeking to gain more experience in the accounts sector. Our client is committed to providing comprehensive training and development.The duties for this opportunity include:

  • Monitor and manage outstanding debts to ensure timely payments
  • Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities
  • Contact clients via phone, email, or letters to chase overdue invoices
  • Negotiate repayment plans with clients who are facing financial difficulties
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in payments or invoices
  • Generate and send out monthly statements to clients
  • Liaise with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues
  • Prepare reports on the status of credit and collections
  • Implement credit control procedures to reduce the risk of late payments
  • Escalate persistent payment issues to management or legal advisors when necessary
  • Process payments and allocate them to the correct client accounts
  • Conduct credit checks on new clients and set credit limits
  • Provide excellent customer service to maintain positive client relationships
