Job Description

As the Deputy Manager of Extra Care Housing, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting the operations of the Extra Care Housing Teams.Reporting directly to the Head of Housing, you will collaborate as a management team to ensure the provision of exceptional support, and services to residents. Your leadership and managerial skills will be crucial in maintaining a positive and nurturingenvironment for our residents and staff alike.The extra care housing is located across Kent at Gravesend, Wateringbury, Larkfield, Tonbridge and Paddock Wood.Who are weOur client is a housing association that covers Kent and Sussex, with their head office in Tunbridge Wells. What will you be doingRole Specific Responsibilities:Provide strong leadership to the Extra Care Housing team, inspiring and motivating them to deliver high-quality housing and support services.Collaborate with the Head of Housing in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new staff members.Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training and development needs.To assist with the OOH services rota provided to staff and residents at all schemes.To provide leave and sickness absence cover across all extra care housing schemes, ensuring that the service is adaptable, flexible and that service levels are maintained.Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all residents by monitoring and maintaining risk assessments, and support services.Promote a person-centred approach, respecting residents individual choices, independence, and dignity.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures in the provision of care and support services.Regularly review and update policies and protocols to meet changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Act as a liaison between the Extra Care Housing facility and other departments within the organisation.Cultivate positive relationships with residents, their families, and external partners to enhance resident satisfaction and the reputation of the facility.Assist the Head of Housing in managing the budget for the Extra Care Housing facility, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost saving opportunities.To have an oversight of the Wish Appeal and ensure that residents take up of the scheme is supported/maximised.Identify areas for improvement in operations, and staff performance, implementing action plans to drive positive change.Stay updated with industry trends and developments, incorporating best practices into the facilitys operations.To act as a complaint responder at stage 1 of the complaint process.GeneralTo adhere to the equal opportunities policy and to actively promote equality of opportunity wherever possible.Recognise, respect and promote the different roles and diversity of the individuals within the business.To actively contribute towards key performance indicators and professional standards.Work in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Law and be responsible for the integrity of personal information you process.
