What its like to work here In just 400 acres Knightshayes estate encompasses ancient semi natural woodland, newly planted mixed broadleaf woodland, listed historic parkland, lowland meadow, riparian habitat, farmland and even ornamental grounds. All of which are cared for by the ranger, senior ranger and their great team of volunteers.For more information about our property please visit What youll be doing The job role is as varied as the estate itself and ranges from detailed work improving the presentation standards of the designed elements to habitat restoration and creation in our wilder areas. As a ranger and member of the wider outdoors team you will join a hands on, practical team who work with a variety of volunteers, machines and staff disciplines to achieve extraordinary things in-house. We work collaboratively when required, such as with the gardens, visitor experience and facilities teams to achieve our property wide aspirations, constantly communicating, planning and delivering for maximum effect.You will need to work at pace, whilst maintaining high standards in finish, safety and public engagement and will need to be optimistic and adaptable at all times; turning your hand to both the routine jobs such as litter picking and strimming to the special jobs such as dormouse monitoring and even aerial tree work.In this role, you’ll work some weekends, bank holiday and evenings and being on-call.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.
