Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance EngineerOverall Job Purpose: We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the machines used in the production process. This role requiresa strong background in engineering, with expertise in machine setup and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a line setter and a thorough understanding of packaging and labelling machinery.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties may vary depending on work but will include:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on packaging and labelling machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to machinery operation, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems.
  • Set up packaging and labelling machines according to production requirements, including adjusting settings, configuring sensors, and calibrating equipment.
  • Continuously monitor machine performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, replacement parts, and maintenance schedules. Prepare reports on machine performance, downtime, and maintenance costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and collaborate with the procurement team to ensure an adequate supply of critical components for machine maintenance and repairs.
Personal Qualities and QualificationsPersonal Specifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging and labelling machinery, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail to perform accurate inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety, adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications and Certification:
  • A degree in engineering or a related technical field is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing environment with packaging and labelling machinery desirable
  • Previous experience as a line setter is highly desirable.
