Job Description

Finance/Commercial Administrator - Carpentry£20-25kExeterMy ClientMy client are a reputable carpenter who have gained a reputation for the highstandards of carpentry workmanship they provide to their customers.They deliver top quality Carpentry Contracting Services to the nations largest HouseBuilders building in the South West of England along with the South Wests independentbespoke Developers. Their commitment is to ensure completion within budget and requiredtimescales whilst delivering the highest quality Product, Customer Care and Health &Safety, via a highly skilled team of Employed and Sub-Contract Carpenters, Site Supervisorsand Administrative Team, whose passion, experience, knowledge and skill benefit theirclients.This role is for a Finance/Commercial administrator and will involved the following tasks:

  1. Use Quickbooks to create invoices, monitor payments and chase late payments and issue statements as instructed. Receive payments and maintain customer information producing basic reports as and when required.
  1. Printing of the drawings for potential new contracts and collating them for the Commercial Manager.
  1. Check and process Sub-Contractors Invoices. Enter invoices on Quickbooks, make payments to them and keep accurate information regarding retentions.
  1. Assist with the production & maintenance of the pricing sheets for our Sub-Contractors.
  1. Set up and maintain all new site folders on the k:drive to include the drawing packages.
  1. Record & monitor the retention held by all of our Contractors and claim back when necessary.
  1. Attend and on occasions minute take at meetings as and when necessary.
  1. Receive telephone calls and deal with any queries.
  1. Carry out the day-to-day general administration for the Commercial office and additional administrative duties requested by either of the Directors, the Commercial Manager or Office Manager particularly during other staff absences.
A good standard of education with C/GCEs or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Experience of processing orders and invoices
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Administration (or equivalent)
  • A Commercial qualification

  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
