Job Description

Job title: Design Engineer/DraughtspersonOverall job purpose: to create and design products with cad software to fulfill customer-driven specifications.Responsible to:

  • Design office manager
Main duties and responsibilities
  • Constructing 2d & 3D production drawings of components for fabrication and machining departments
  • Completing custom designs based on the client’s specification
  • Assist the assembly team and provide technical support to other departments
  • Working to set engineering standards
  • Involvement in the workshop ensuring production methods are incorporated into the design
  • Maintain working area and equipment
Person specification
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a workshop environment
  • Excellent timekeeping with a flexible approach to work
Qualifications and certification
  • Experience of working in a mechanical engineering environment including the design of castings, fabrication, and machinery
  • Experience in using solidworks 3D, autocad LT or similar software
  • Experience and knowledge of the bulk handling industry
