Job Description

Butler Rose are assisting our Tiverton based, well-established client with their search for a Credit Controller. The role is full time and office based. The successful candidate will have strong credit control experience. The office is based just outsideof Tiverton.The role will report directly to the Operations Manager but will also work closely with the customer service, warehousing and purchasing teams, as well as senior management in the day-to-day activities of the role.The main purpose of the credit controller will be to work with the support of their line manager to handle the collection of monies and resolution of account queries, to ensure debtor days are kept to a minimum. It is vital that a Credit Controller buildsand maintains close links with all customers, to ensure smooth running of accounts and encourage timely recovery of paymentsKey Duties

  • Chasing outstanding debts by telephone, email and on occasion letters
  • Managing and resolving queries with customers relating to their account
  • Working closely with the sales and customer service teams to maintain an efficient credit control strategy
  • Negotiating and maintaining payment plans
  • Flagging accounts that require further action without delay
  • Taking card payments via telephone
  • Customer Allocations and reconciliations
  • Opening of new customer accounts to include appropriate KYC and credit referencing
  • Maintenance of correct customer data within the SAGE system.
  • Providing outstanding customer service
Required Skills
  • Proven credit control experience including an understanding of sales ledger accounting procedures (banking, allocations)
  • Reconciliation experience
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • The ability to use Excel to work with and analyse data (filters, basic functions etc)
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience of using SAGE200 would be advantageous but training can be given for the right candidate
Youll be great in this role if you have excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. You will be highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks. You will be a great team player who works well with others but who can also workunder your own initiative.SpecificsThis role is being offered as a 37.5 hours per week, full-time office-based position.
