Job Title: Technical Artist (AAA Games)Location: Sheffield (Hybrid)Salary: £30,000 - £45,000Verus has an amazing opportunity to join an established AAA Games studio in the steal city of Sheffield as a technical artist. This role will provide the opportunity to work on an incredible game, with cutting edge technology, in a forward thinking and supportingcompany!As a Technical Artist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth integration of art and technology, working closely with both the art and programming teams to deliver high-quality content.Whats in it for you * A great salary of £30,000 - £45,000.* Relocation benefit.* Hybrid working available.* Healthcare Plan.* Employee Assistance Programme.* Cycle to work scheme.* Employee Discount Club.* Company-paid social events.The main responsibilities* Liaising between heads of programming and Art teams.* Researching and developing technical tools.* Setting up and maintaining workflows of art production.* Own and solve complex technical issues during development.* Evaluating and recommending on what tools are required for game production.* Ensuring final art runs to visual and technical targets.* Optimizing of art assets to adhere to defined performance and memory budgets.* Writing custom software specific to the needs of the game which will work with industry standard scripting languages.The right candidate* Proven experience on at least one AAA published title.* A strong portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates high level knowledge in technical art.* Rendering and post-effects experience* Solid understanding of art and animation pipelines* Experience within VFX* Understanding of rigging and animation* High attention to detail* Excellent communication skills* Experience in physics simulations* Shader development experience* Strong 3D art package proficiency.* Experience in digital art content creation.* Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate differences between creative and technical teams.Software Packages* Game engines Unreal/Unity Engine* C, C++, Java* Python* Lua* MaxScript* Perl* Maya* 3D Studio Max* Adobe After Effects, Photoshop* Substance PainterIts important to note that all these skills are for a PERFECT candidate.
