Job Description

Supervising Social Worker Join this organisation’s team in Thornaby as a Supervising Social Worker where you will work with an experienced team in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.As the Supervising Social Worker your day will be varied. You can follow a flexible structure whilst supporting their foster carers, holding realistic caseloads, and providing a high level of supervision, monitoring, and intervention. You will work withina Trauma-informed practice model where they can support and follow a therapeutic practice.Working as the Supervising Social Worker you will have the opportunity to complete Form F Assessments, be part of their Children & Young people’s participation and strategy events and be part of their out-of-hours service, where you will support their fostercarers on a rota basis.Their leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the childcare sector. Therefore, they are looking for committed and dedicated people who want to continue their careers with a therapeutically based organisationand leading independent fostering agency.For newly qualified social workers, you will have access to the ASYE programme, formal CHARMS training as well as access to their peer and group clinical supervision provided by a qualified psychologist; you will have opportunities to integrate with theirclinical, educational and residential services, they like to promote from within so you will have access to career progression opportunities.HoursThe full-time hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm and Fridays 9.00am - 4.30pmYou will be expected to be in their office for at least one day per weekThe role is full-time over five days per week; however, if you would like the opportunity for part-time or compressed hours, they would be happy to speak to you about thisWhy the organisation

Requirements
  • Good written and IT skills
  • Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers
  • Able to actively listen to others
  • Formal Social Work Qualification
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
