Job Description

About the roleAn Ofsted rated Good’ primary school is seeking a 1:1 teaching assistant to join their small team and support a year 1 student with high needs.Ofsted describes pupils progress at this school as Good’ and says that teachers are able to meet the children’s needs on an individual level’. Teaching assistants are described as committed’ and demonstrate that they play a significant role’ in the progressof children with special educational needs. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, we would love to hear from you!In this role, you would be supporting a child with ADHD, ASD and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis. Day-to-day duties will include;

  • Developing 1:1 sessions to support academic development
  • Supporting the child academically during large group class time
  • Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management within the classroom
  • Providing regular emotional and social support and managing challenging behaviour
This role will begin immediately and end at the end of the academic year.About youThe ideal candidate for this role would be somebody who loves supporting children with additional needs and demonstrates the ability to remain calm under pressure.
