Job Description

About the Role ***Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Advisor- Competitive hourly rate - FTC Contract, Teesside***Are you qualified with a NEBOSH General or equivalent and are based in Teesside SPIE UK have the perfect role for you!An Immediate start and overtime is available. The position will be offered on a fixed term contract basis.Experience in the Electrical Industry and excellent I.T. / Computer literacy skills are required.We are passionate about safety, and we need applicants to share that passion. This opportunity will provide a competitive hourly rate and excellent benefits (in line with JIB Regulations).You will be working for a global multi-technical solutions provider who puts their employees development and progression at the front of our business plans.As HS&E Advisor, you will take responsibility for all Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) elements pertaining to the relevant project, promoting the highest standard of Safety and Environmental matters. Promote an enthusiastic HS&E culture that deliversa positive commitment to engage all employees in the continuous improvement of HS&E performance.Key Accountabilities

  • Focus on the expected Support Team behaviours for achieving significant results and outcomes for the business, helping SPIE UK to maintain its leading-edge status within the industry and our reputation with our customers
  • Must be able to prepare and review risk assessments and method statements
  • Provide positive leadership within the area of operation and promote the adoption of HS&E best practice
  • Work with others and provide advice to ensure a safety responsible culture is established with our supply chain- chair principal sub-contractor forums
  • Foster companywide HS&E awareness with appropriate training and education programmes to reinforce understanding balanced up by an effective internal communications programme
  • Carry out HS&E Site inspections and Toolbox Talks (TBTs)
  • Give Safety, Health and Environmental presentations to site teams
  • Advise management on all relevant aspects of safety, health, welfare, and environmental protection
with emphasis on sound methods of working and systems to identify hazardsKey Skills
  • Experience in a health and safety role preferably in the Industrial Electrical Industry
  • Degree level with NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent. Level of relevant experience will be considered in other cases
  • Sound technical Health and Safety knowledge
  • Understanding of HS&E Management systems
  • Understanding of UK HS&E legislation
  • Ability to work independently and in Department and project teams
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word office software particularly word and Excel
  • Strong organisational, decision-making and communication skills.
  • An Industrial background, with emphasis on electrical installation (Desirable)
  • Experience of training design and delivery, good presentation skills (Desirable)
  • Environment experience (Desirable)
