This is a great opportunity within our Housing Management business, following the success of the Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract win.This role will require you to carry out all aspects of painting and decorating work including general repairs, maintenance and refurbishment to a high standard in accordance with Safety Regulations. Other duties consist of stripping, preparation and applications of wall and ceiling coverings (incl. lining, embossed, ingrain, pattern, borders) in accordance with work specifications. Applying anti-vandal treatments, being prepared to act as a mentor to trainees within the organisation and encourage a learning environment as well as obtain, where requested.At Mears, we recognise that our people are our greatest asset and as such we believe this is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional professional to make a real difference to customers, communities and the people they lead. In order to be successful for this role, you will have the following:• Appropriate experience working in the Building Construction/Maintenance Industry.• The ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks contained within the job description.• The ability to understand and interpret work instructions, drawings and schematic drawings.• The ability to trace, diagnose and rectify faults.• The ability to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships.This role is a Full Time role of 40 hours per week. Hours of work would be across a 7 day shift pattern covering 8am to 8pm Mon - Fri & 8am - 4.30pm Sat & Sun.
