Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Analyst to join or friendly, professional team in Swindon on a 6-month fixed-term contract.We at Oak Furnitureland are going through an exciting transformation, to fulfil our ambition of "helping people make their house a real home" delivering quality, stylish products at accessible prices.With a change in ownership in 2020 the company has gone through a period of cultural transformation, and we now have an opportunity for a Supply Chain Analyst to work with us on a fixed-term contract for 6 months.The main purpose of the Supply Chain Analyst is to work with the sourcing department and suppliers to deliver procurement requirements and oversee performance analysis and stock maintenance for a range of product categories.You will be looking at product trends, promotional trends etc, to deliver efficient stockholding in line with business requirements and to provide analysis and reports as required.Working with the wider supply chain, you will identify and implement operational improvements around order placement and work with the sourcing department to ensure customer order flow and inventory management targets are maintained.With high levels of accuracy and the ability to work at multiple levels of granularity, the Supply Chain Analyst will use their experience and knowledge to prepare order releases in line with the business forecasts and requirements, monitor stock flow, and highlight and implement actions to resolve any issues.The role is based in our Swindon Head Office 2/3 days a week and we can offer homeworking for the rest of the week if that is your preference.Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse supply chain position against forecasted sales and current stock positions to produce order proposals in line with the business ordering cycle.
  • To place orders with suppliers either directly or through the sourcing department and to ensure that planned production/shipment dates are within the business guidelines/requirements.
  • Manage system information relating to supplier purchase orders including the accurate raising of orders in the business system and ensuring weekly monitoring and updating is undertaken to ensure the highest levels of accuracy.
  • Analyse stock position to highlight shortages and drive any remedial action required through the regular issuing and management of expedite requests.
  • Work with the Demand Planning Analyst to ensure any promotional activity, new item introduction, and discontinued items are incorporated into the ordering functions and to highlight any query forecast deviations.
  • To maintain cost pricing within the system to ensure all system prices are accurate and up to date.
  • Produce and distribute daily, weekly, and ad-hoc reports as required.

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Previous experience within a similar supply chain role
  • Experience in range of ERP systems
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience of Smoothie Demand Planning software or similar preferable
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Experience working with a global supplier base
  • Experience of working collaboratively with a Sourcing department
