Grinding Cell Operative Competitive Salary + BenefitsSutton-in-Ashfield (NG17 5FS)The RoleAre you looking for a job opportunity that allows you to be hands-on, develop your skills, and have a rewarding career If so, then this is the job for you.Were looking for an enthusiastic individual to Grinding Cell Operative to join our team. As a Grinding Cell Operative, you will take on the challenge of operating and setting centreless, cylindrical and plunge grinding machines.Key Responsibilities:The key responsibilities of a Grinding Cell Operative include, but are not limited to:

  • Familiar with working with various grades of stainless steel & alloy steels; manufacturing to tight tolerances:
    • Plunge grinder can work to 0.0001 (0.0025mm) with tolerance usually needing to be +0.0001/+0.0003, with diameters as small as 4mm, up to 55mm.
    • Through feed centreless grinding to tolerance ranges of 0.0002 with diameters down to 0.8mm and lengths down to 3mm.
    • Grinding between centres to a 0.0002 tolerance range.
    • Trained & experienced in the setting, dressing, and changing of abrasive wheels.

With over 100 years experience in the manufacture and supply of Jig Bushes, Drill Bushes, Dowel Pins, Jig & Fixture Parts, PressTool Components, Shims, Koenig Sealing Plugs, Engineered Pins, Clevis Pins and special components to customer specific drawings.The Benefits
  • Monday to Thursday 8am4:30pm, Friday 8am1pm.
  • 25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays.
The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Grinding Cell Operative are:
  • Have at least 3 years experience in setting and operating manual machines, such as Cincinnati, Agathon and J&S grinders.
  • Work to engineering drawings, with an ability to work to imperial and metric dimensions.
  • Be experienced in using verniers, micrometres and bore gauges.
  • Can work to a production plan, whilst considering setting and planning efficiencies.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and take great pride in their work.
  • Desire to continually learn and progress through the organisation.
  • Be open to adopting lean methods.
  • Always consider health and safety risks.
