Job Description

Finance Manager - Ely - £48,000 - £52,000A thriving business, who achieved 30% growth last year, are looking for a Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis and lead their finance function.Reporting to director level, you will lead the finance team in managing the companys financial systems, processes and controls to ensure business performance is accurately reported in monthly, and annual reports. The role requires a technically strong andcommercially-minded accountant, who is happy to be hands-on.This role could suit a newly qualified accountant from a background in practice or industry. Equally an experienced Finance Manager looking for a new challenge would fit very well.Responsibilities will include:

  • Review and complete the monthly management accounts
  • Ensure tasks are carried out systematically, using the existing monthly management accounts schedule spreadsheet.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Reconcile the landed cost accounts, the Goods Received Not Invoiced report and the Vendor Prepayments accounts at the end of every month.
  • Review cost allocations.
  • P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Cash flow forecasting.
  • Maintain fixed asset register.
  • Assist with costings.
  • Assist the Credit Controller in setting customer credit limits.
  • Ensure all PAYE, VAT including Intrastat and Corporation tax returns are correct and filed.
  • Liaise with the external auditors at year-end.
  • Stock accounting including ensuring product BOMs are correctly maintained, adjusting if necessary.
  • Participate in the annual risk review with insurers
  • Be responsible for negotiating the various utility contracts with suppliers.
Person profile:
  • Recognised accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Knowledge of financial systems / ERP
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Ability to encourage good communication and teamwork.
  • Identify the training and development needs of all reporting staff.
