Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working on an exclusive basis with a growing and successful business in Nottinghamshire as they look to recruit an ambitious Accountant to work closely with the Head of Financial Reporting. They have been establishedfor over 35 years and have recently grown further via acquisition.This is a varied role involving some work around financial reporting, tax and compliance but with also a good amount of involvement in the commercial side and management accounts. It makes it an ideal role for a first time mover from practice looking to utilise their current skill set from practice whilst also building new skills with the support and mentorship from a strong manager. The role will be based out of their head office locationbut with a great deal of flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week. Duties to include: - * Preparation of the monthly consolidated results including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow* Monthly balance sheet reconciliation* Preparation of the monthly finance pack* Conducting monthly cost reviews with the Groups operating divisions and central functions* Assisting with cash reporting and forecasting* Preparation of the annual financial statements and interim results under IFRS* Management of several technical accounting areas including; lease accounting, expected loss provisioning, investment properties and intangible assets* Working with the finance team and audit team to deliver the year end audit and interim review* Responsibility for the annual corporation tax computations for the group and monthly VAT returns* Supporting the Head of Financial Reporting with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process* Preparation and reporting of the business KPIs * Preparation of capex appraisals to support investment decision making* Responsible for quarterly key controls reviews and testing* Streamline finance processes to improve efficiency* Support on ad-hoc projects as requiredThe successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)* Practice trained or similar experience gained from time in industry * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders* A self-motivated individual who works well in a team and alone * Highly organised with a structured approach to delivery of work* A willingness to learn and develop new skills* Experience of financial accounting and IFRS* IT literate with strong Excel skillsIf you are looking for an opportunity to accelerate your career with a long-standing and reputable business that can offer substantial career progression and opportunity then please send in your CV to Simon Ensor at Elevation Recruitment Group.
