Job Description

Job Title: Health and Safety AssistantJob Type: Permanent, Full TimeSalary: £23-25,000Location: StudleyJob Description for Health and Safety Assistant:Would you like to work within a company who values every individual with great values and a genuine family feel Do you want to further or kick start your career within Health and Safety This is a fast-paced environment which requires a very good eye to detailwith a positive can-do attitude. It is within a Heavy Haulage company so would expose you an excellent growing industry.Duties and Requirements for Health and Safety Assistant:

  • Contributing towards the achievement of further H&S accreditations in line with the companys strategic plan for 2021/2022.
  • Working with the H&S team to coordinate & participate in remote site H&S safety inspections including note taking.
  • Assist with the annual review of risk assessments, to include COSHH risk assessments, site wide.
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations to ensure the timely production of corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Assist with the day-to-day health and safety activities.
  • Conduct HSE consumable inventory checks with our team of HGV Drivers.
  • Assist with client specific on-boarding processes.
  • Review, updating and analysis of employee training records.
  • Updating and maintenance of health and safety records.
  • Co-ordinating and booking of industry accredited training courses including CPCS, CSCS, and National Grid PERSONS and NVQs.
  • Purchase of H&S consumables, signage, PPE, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
  • Preparing Health and Safety literature including Memos, Newsletters and Tool Box talks on a monthly basis.
  • Updating of health and safety notice boards and where required safety signage.
  • Provide office cover in the absence of the HSEQ Manager and/or H&S Assistant.
  • Delivering company inductions as and when required.
  • Testing of site fire alarms.
  • Monitoring and replenishment of First Aid stations across site.
  • Attending meetings and minute taking.
  • General filling and scanning of documentation.
  • To perform any duty within the company that is a reasonable request.
Requirements and further information for Health and Safety Assistant:
  • Previous experience within a similar position is desirable but not required.
  • Good Administrative experience and excellent attention to detail.
  • IOSH is very desirable but not essential, potentially experience in warehouse/yard environment
  • 40 hour week, 8:30-5pm Monday- Friday, 30 minute lunch
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
