Teaching Assistant

Location: Streatham
Salary: 85 - £110 per day
Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, working under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Day to Day of the role:

Attend to pupils’ personal needs, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding appropriately to individual needs.
Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils, encouraging interaction and engagement in teacher-led activities.
Prepare and clear the classroom for lessons, assist with the display of pupils’ work, and provide clerical/administrative support as needed.
Support the curriculum by helping pupils understand instructions, use basic ICT, and maintain equipment/resources.
Contribute to the school’s ethos, work, and aims, and participate in relevant meetings and training activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience working with or caring for children of relevant age.
Numeracy and literacy qualifications at NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or currently enrolled on a course working towards this.
Completion of DfES Teacher Assistant Induction Programme is desirable.
Knowledge of first aid.
Proficiency in using basic technology such as computers, video equipment, and photocopiers.
Ability to relate well to children and adults and work constructively as part of a team.
Commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
