Job Description

Group IT Project ManagerApplegreen/Welcome Break Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes, MK16 9EZup to £65k base salaryHybrid working model European travel may be required on occasionIs this Applegreen or Welcome BreakConfused Dont be, we can explain.Applegreen is the majority shareholder of Welcome Break and therefore our UK teams often work closely on a number of projects.We are working together to find a new IT Project Managerfor the Applegreen business. This is a group level role looking after our businesses both in the UK and Ireland as well as the USA.The role is based in the UK from the Welcome Break head offices in Newport Pagnell.Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and is seeking to onboard an induvidual with the skills, experience and dynamism to help deliver projects in a fast-paced retail environment.Job PurposeApplegreen operate world class service stations across the UK, IRE and the USA. We are one of the biggest operators in this sector, along with our operations in gas filling and EV.At the core of this is our Group IT Programme team and world class Project Management team, and were looking for an IT Project Manager to join them. This varied and exciting role will own and manage a key project of implementing new sites from an IT perspectivefrom the ground up with IT systems and applications. With exceptional communication and relationship management skills, the role will work closely with key business stakeholders, technical resources, and third-party providers in a fast-paced but hugely rewardingenvironment.Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful coordination and delivery of IT projects, owning and driving through all stages of the Project Lifecycle.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, documenting and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor progress
  • Ensure that projects are managed through the IT change programme, using established methodologies to ensure scope is achieved.
  • Manage Project budgets, ensuring cost is tightly controlled
  • Prepare and issue status reporting to IT Leadership & Key Stakeholders
  • Quality control/procedures and processes, including assistance in testing stages
  • Risk, Change and issue Management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Travel will be required within the UK, Ireland and Europe
Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
  • Experience of IT projects, ideally with a focus on applications e.g., ERP, Finance and Inventory, HRIS, Payroll, Time and Attendance, POS, customer facing and digital applications and an appreciation of working it network vendors
  • Experience of data focused & integration projects is advantageous
  • A minimum of 3 Years Project Management, ideally in similar industry e.g., Retail, Hospitality, QSR, FMCG
  • Formal Project Management qualifications is preferred advantageous e.g., Prince 2, PMP
  • Working knowledge and understanding of both Waterfall & Agile Project methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple/concurrent high-profile IT projects
  • Experience of managing business change initiatives for business & customer applications
  • Experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive project planning documentation and related artefacts
  • Excellent Stakeholder and Supplier Management skills with the ability to negotiate and influence when needed
  • Experience in project management apps is advantageous. (Project, Dira, Devops)
