Job Description

Transport CoordinatorWe are recruiting for a Transport Coordinator in the Tunstall area of Stoke-on-Trent.We are looking for an enthusiastic switched on individual with an eye for detail, the key being accuracy. The candidate must have data entry skill, be able to multitask and be very thorough. The job is fast pasted so requires a calm person with good communication skills that can make sure they follow process at all times. Must be self-motivated, able to manage their time effectively and work well in a team.Details of a Transport Coordinator:

  • Salary: £10.96 p/h
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
  • Location: Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Duration: Temporary ongoing
    • Role of a Transport Coordinator:
  • To coordinate national/International multi-mode transport and ensure relevant legislation is adhered to.
  • Support the development of processes to manage freight movements and demonstrate control over carriers utilised ensuring service quality.
  • Create & tender collection requirements to carrier base utilising DHL systems
  • Coordinate shipment from NOR (notice of readiness) through to delivery using the customer and DHL systems
    • Desirable Experience:
  • Tactical planning & operational experience in multi modal transport operations (Road, Air & Sea)
  • Experience of International shipping particular customs & documentation requirements
  • Good customer service skills
  • A good degree of computer literacy, with a comprehensive working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong and effective organising, planning and process work methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and IT skills
  • A very confident manner
  • Experience of working with a variety of customers (Internal and External) and communicating professionally at all times both face to face, on the telephone and via email.
