Job Description

Position: Assistant AccountantLocation: Stoke-on-TrentEmployment Type: Full-time As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting my clients finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and providing financial analysis. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant to ensure compliancewith accounting principles, policies, and procedures.Responsibilities of an Assistant Accountant:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, analysing variances, and providing recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the annual audit process and liaise with auditors as required.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide support in other areas of the finance department as needed.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
