Timothy Wiseman are looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer for a growing tech organisation on full-time permanent basis. This post is required to develop, install and provide technical IT support to schools and othereducational establishments. The post is to be responsible for supporting the network infrastructure,admin and curriculum ICT networks. The post holder will be required to support these systems by telephone, remote access and site visits.ResponsibilityCommercial:• Keep abreast of developments in Information, Communication and Audio VisualTechnologies particularly looking for innovative and efficient ways to improve services anddevelop systems used in the school environment.Knowledge:• To resolve problems relating to networks, PC hardware and software in schools bytelephone, remote support or site visit.• To deliver onsite training where applicable to teaching staff on new and emergingtechnologies ie Office 365, G-Suite• To develop, install and support Schools’ ICT systems and network infrastructure at bothserver and desktop levelEssential Skills:• Proven experience in a related role• Full working knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems• Ability to offer specialist support in other Microsoft products (Exchange, SharePoint, etc)• Proven ability to successfully motivate self and others• Committed to customer focused service delivery• Clear written and oral communication skills for any audience• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills• Committed to working flexibility to cover the duties of the service• Ability to build successful customer and supplier relationships• Professional approach with a positive attitude to delivering high quality work• Good knowledge and installation experience of Microsoft Server operating systemsDesirable Skills:• MS HyperV and VMware experience, installation and Support• Network Infrastructure experience, HP Switches• MIS knowledge egSims.NETOther:Current and clean full driving license and use of a car.The successful applicant will require security clearance (i.e. Enhanced DBS checked).The role requires the engineer to manage the network of schools assigned. This will involve givingthe school honest and accurate advice using your own sound judgment. Any changes to the networkneed to be relayed to myself as I would like to be kept up to date on all schools.To build a trusting relationship with the leadership team and all staff, we will assist you with supportand guidance. We will provide you with consultancy advice and quotations where required.Ongoing training will be provided to all engineers so you will be required to complete certification.You will be providing a managed service to a group of schools and will be expected to manage thisusing your own initiative and pro-active attitude.Included in your remit will be curriculum support, hardware support, basic AV support andmaintenance, admin support where possible, network infrastructure support.We will review all engineers’ contracts on a yearly basis.We will provide a laptop, phone, and other equipment needed to allow you to offer a high service toall our clients.We are hiring for multiple areas located within North and South Staffordshire and, Birmingham area.Genuine live roles, looking to interview asap.
