Job Description

Technical Lead - Viral VectorsAn attractive opportunity to join a successful and growing biotechnology company. Based on a busy technology park in a pleasant leafy area, the business offer a busy and dynamic environment in which to gain new skills and further progress your career.About the role;The role is ideal for someone who has strong demonstrable experience in overseeing viral vector production. Candidates with 4 years+ relevant experience would be ideal.Ongoing training will be provided where necessary.Key responsibilities;

  • Plan technical programme requirements and develop work schedules. Lead troubleshooting as required.
  • Liaise with team members, management, suppliers and clients to ensure projects are completed to agreed standards, on time and within budget.
  • Identify, monitor and manage risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Drive and deliver MSAT initiatives through analysis of existing operations, identification of areas for improvement and standardisation of service offerings.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments. Represent and promote the company through conference attendance and sales meetings as required.
  • Provide technical collaboration to support mergers and acquisitions functions.
  • Motivate and mentor scientific and technical staff and support progression plans to enable continued improvement in technical capability and staff development.
  • Communicate effectively with teams and programme stakeholders on challenges, failures, and successes.
Required experience;
  • At least 4 years + work experience in leading viral vector manufacturing
  • Thorough understanding of the process required to develop a viral vector product
  • Direct experience in development/ delivery/ tech transfer of manufacturing processes for ATMPs
  • Previous work experience within GMP framework
  • Strong experience interacting with customers
  • Strong strategic thinking ability
  • Bachelors degree minimum (or equivalent) in relevant Science subject
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
