Job Description

This is a shift-based role on a permanent rota. Hours will include some evenings and some weekends. The RoleAnzo group is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Stoke-on-Trent. Reporting to the Head of Corporate IT, you will be an integral part of designing, building, and improving new and existing IT systems and services for the business. Working alongside other technology groups you will be comfortable collaborating and influencing others, ensuring good industry practice is followed. Automation and self-service will be a key focus for this role with the aim of reducing repetitive tasks as much as possible.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain the internal IT infrastructure. This includes the network, server and cloud infrastructure.
  • Security focused. Ensuring IT new systems and services are designed for ease of use while keeping our users and intellectual property safe.
  • Automate where possible, whether it be through scripts or solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop innovative solutions that provide the functionality required by the business and are available, reliable, performant and scalable.
  • Work as part of shift rota to support our CS Teams.
  • Be a mentor and point of escalation to other team members.
  • Writing technical documents, including but not limited to designs, procedures, runbooks.
  • Some requirements to participate in and perform out of office hour incident response, maintenance or updates as required.
  • Monitoring and ensuring high performance and availability of IT infrastructure.
    • Key Skills/Experience:
  • A proven track record in IT infrastructure engineering.
  • Expert in Linux, Windows Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with hybrid or solely cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS).
  • Scripting experience, Powershell, BASH, Python and Golang.
  • Familiarity with containerised environments including, Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Networking, switching, firewalls, WiFi, site-to-site and user VPN. (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Pulse Secure).
  • Experience with identity management: Active Directory, Okta, Azure, SAML.
  • Productivity and Management Services: Office365, GSuite, SCCM, JAMF, Salt, Terraform. As well as appropriate security practises.
  • Excellent understanding of IT Security.
    • Desirable skills:
  • Experience in Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD tools like Github or Gitlab.
