Job Description

Job Title: Stores OperativeJob Type: PermanentLocation: Stoke on TrentSalary: up to £22KIndustry: Water Treatment SolutionsPremier Engineering has engaged with a key client and a Water Treatment Solutions specialist based in Stoke-on-Trent. A new opportunity has become available for a Stores Person to join on a permanent basis.We are in need for a focused and hard working stores and purchasing operative. The main focus of the company is carrying out servicing and installation of water and wastewater treatment equipment. Our Longton office and stores has 7 staff regularly workingfrom there with a further 25 engineers working throughout the country.We are looking for an individual to carry out the following tasks: -

  • Run a small but busy water treatment stores
  • Place purchase orders
  • Arrange deliveries of parts and PPE to engineers throughout the UK
  • Provide parts quotations both from stock and via suppliers
  • Contact existing customers offering spare parts and consumables
Training is provided, however we are a small office and need the successful candidate to be prepared to learn quickly and be organised. The workplace is relaxed and fun, however all the staff work efficiently and methodically to ensure our customers obtainan excellent service from us.Some basic requirements include: -
  • You will be able to learn quickly the products we supply and work with the existing stores system to ensure that the parts are delivered in a timely manner. Suggesting improvements to the stores system would be welcomed.
  • You will be able to work on your own and meet daily requirements such as getting deliveries out on time, placing purchase orders and helping with quotations.
  • The job requires both manual and computer work and will require the successful candidate to carry out some sales work selling spares to both existing and new customers.
  • You will be meticulous with your paperwork and IT management.
  • You will be very organised.
To apply you must have: -
  • A current drivers licence
  • Good working knowledge of MS office including using formulas in MS Excel
  • A current forklift licence (training would be provided for the right candidate)
  • Fluent English (written, reading and speaking)
  • Full legal status to work in the UK
