Job Description

The Site Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commission and maintain the companys products efficiently and profitably on our customers site.ecific:

  • Carry out installation, commissioning, installation/operational qualification testing, temperature mapping and customer training to procedure 9001QP19 within quoted timescales and budgets
  • Carry out calibration and validation to company procedures
  • Carry out comparison calibration to procedure 9001QN103
  • Carry out routine service, emergency service and product updates as required under warranty or subsequent maintenance agreements
  • Diagnosing and fault finding breakdowns. To liaise closely with the Applications Engineer and/or Engineering Manager reporting progress, gathering data, readings and information as requested
  • Undertake on-call duties. Be part of the on call out of hours rota
  • Undertake annual calibration, alarm limit testing, temperature sensor validation and active sensor calibration and/or replacement
  • Complete all appropriate site documentation and returning copies to the office in an efficient timely manner. Ensure you use latest issue documentation and software
  • Feeding back customer comments (positive or negative), requests, observations and additional functionality requests
  • Proactively maintaining sufficient van stocks of installation materials and specific maintenance spares
  • Control and safeguard kitted products and equipment issued for installation projects
  • Act as project manager on specific projects
  • Carry out site surveys and preparing quotations for extensions to existing systems or new systems. Where appropriate, recommend suitable equipment to meet customers requirements and estimate material and labour costs
  • Complete site asset registers as and when required.
    • General:
  • Maintain effective communications with office staff
  • Manage own time effectively, complete and submit weekly timesheet, complete monthly expenses to business expense guidelines 9001QN81
  • Responsible for company vehicle, to keep the vehicle clean and tidy both inside and out. To regularly check all necessary fluid levels and tyre pressures. To notify the Installation and Service Manager when a service is due and of any defects
  • Take full responsibility for any equipment (including laptop and mobile phone) issued to you
  • Ability to download and print documents from home using own printer
  • Positively contribute to ISO 9001and ISO 17025 continuous improvement ethos
  • Attend any training/development courses that are deemed relevant by Contronics management
  • Attend any meetings/exhibitions outside of normal hours at the discretion of Contronics management
  • Comply with company Health and Safety rules and procedure - 9001QA54
  • Comply with customer site Health and Safety rules and procedures
  • Wear appropriate PPE as required by company and/or customer Health and Safety rules and procedures. Report worn or defective PPE to Installation and Service Manager
  • Comply with NHSBT Site procedure 9001QN80 and customer site procedure 9001QN:
  • Perform Comparison Calibration to 9001QN103
    • This role involves frequent periods of working away from home where overnight stays are required between Monday to Thursday. Over the year, Site Engineers overnight stays average out at between 2 - 3 nights per week, however, the actual pattern of overnight stays varies with workload. The work is where it is, when it is and there is little the Company can do to influence this. Therefore it is important that the Site Engineer is comfortable with the overnight stay requirement. They will also be required to travel throughout the UK, therefore, we need to make sure they are comfortable doing about 3-4-hour journeys on the UK motorways.Salary£26,000 per annum plus on call allowance (on call once fully trained). Details of the on call allowance will be provided once the employee has been fully trained38.5 hour working week - (and up to an additional 7.5 hours unpaid travel time per week)Overnight Stay Salary SupplementA salary supplement of £15 per night is paid when Site Engineers work away from home and stay in hotel accommodation overnight.
