Job Description

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to move your career forward with a company that supports, values and recognises your dedication to delivering great healthcare If so, this might be for you.Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join team team as a Senior Occupational Therapist at The Woodhouse in Cheadle, where youll provide person-centred care to people with a learning disability and/or autism.With prior experience in a similar role from the NHS or private sector, you will carry a designated caseload to identify occupational therapy goals as part of service users overall care plan through assessment tools.You will assess the occupational performance needs of service users, which will plan and deliver occupational therapy within the clinical area, prioritising clinical needs to provide an effective people focused group and individual interventions as a partof their therapeutic programmes.As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will use graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals, which focus on service users clinical needs and will monitor, evaluate and modify treatment programmes and interventions to support their progression.With a strong emphasis on teamwork, youll enjoy support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals.Other responsibilities:

  • Ensure that written and electronic records and activity data for self and team are maintained
  • Identify the training needs of occupational therapy staff and participate in the development and delivery of the directorate and occupational therapy training plans
  • Contribute to the induction, training and education of students and staff
  • Responsible for the supervision and written assessment of occupational therapy students on practice placement within the service
  • Monitoring the impact of the Quality Improvement Strategy on the services business plan
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of Elysium Healthcare quality initiatives
  • Contribute and support in the Regional Clinical Governance
To be successful in this role, youll need:
  • HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
  • BSc/MA in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience of Occupational Therapy with people with learning disability and autism
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the Occupational Therapy process in a mental health setting preferably secure hospitals or locked rehabilitation services
  • Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising Occupational Therapy support staff and students
  • Ability to plan, facilitate and evaluate individual and group interventions with service users
  • Evidence of post graduate continuing professional development
  • Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of treatment strategies for women with mental health conditions
  • Passion for working with people within inpatient settings and a commitment to involving people in their care and treatment
