Job Description

TaxAssist Accountants are seeking a motivated and proactive Semi Senior Practice Accountant to join their team. TaxAssist Accountants are a large network of over 200 offices across the UK, now expanding and growing internationally. The Stoke-on-Trent office has been expanding since its opening in March 2015 and we are now looking for another strong team member to join and grow within the team. The main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients
  • Supervise junior team members
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Tax computations (personal and corporate)
  • Accounts preparation for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
  • VAT return preparation and submission
  • Holding meetings with new and existing clients
  • Sales and purchase ledger control
  • Bookkeeping
  • Payroll processing
  • Office Administration
  • Engaging with potential clients and managing communications to potential clients
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public
  • Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications
  • Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a timely, courteous and efficient manner and accurately log information on all calls received
  • Plus other ad hoc duties
    • The ideal candidate will have experience working within an accountancy practice and will be either an AAT/ACCA/ACA studier or qualified.This role is available on either a full time or part time basis.
