Project Manager (Fibre Build)Stoke on Trent RegionPackage: £70- £75,000 base with car or allowance & benefitsThis is a great opportunity to work for a new telecoms company that is building a FTTX / Fibre Network in the Stoke on Trent region and delivering ultra fast connectivity.Its critical infrastructure so following government guidelines, we are pushing forward despite the current lockdown situation and this is a long term delivery programme.Were looking for an experienced telecoms fibre build project manager, and you would own overall responsibility for the project region by way of planning, build and delivery. The work is going to be business, residential and public buildings and as project manager, youll be both operational delivery lead alongside local authority relationship manager so in a nutshell, the main person for the programme area.Early days for the company and for the right PM, this equals opportunity and a real chance to influence and determine how the model will be nationally. Stoke is going to be the blueprint and will be replicated as to how this company plan, build and deploy networks across the UK so its a real chance for a well-known face from around the telecoms industry to join and play a part in significant growth through 2020 and beyond.Who are youWere looking for an experienced telecoms project manager and as the salary suggests, this is a role that needs someone who can come along and really make a difference by way of how the overall project is delivered in the region. Youll be supported by civils supervisors, build managers, SHEQ and a growing PMO but it still needs to be someone who can think on their feet and play a part in both the implementation of process and a methodology that suits a rapid growth FTTX business. Its busy, its fluid and the targets to reach are testing to say the least but we need to put scalability in place and for the right PM, this fast moving environment and the chance to pretty much be the lead in how this is going to be, will be a real attraction.We need a PM who is telecoms construction and delivery and the likelihood is that youll come from the FTTX delivery environment. Its a hit the ground running environment so not really the place for someone from outside the industry to move across and with the build project chugging along like a steam engine, its that blend of know-how & assurance which equals the opportunity.Its a NRSWA regulated environment so while you wouldnt strictly need the ticket at the moment, chances are you will have held it at some point in the past or certainly would have delivered projects within that kind of environment. Formal project methodology is going to be assumed and while we wont point the finger at any one particular discipline, youll likely be both versed and qualified in the main delivery methodologies and be able to point to project values in the multi-million pound range.This is a permanent position working directly for the client and all things being well, could quickly progress in a role that carries national level responsibility as the future for the company is looking bright, with significant investment and further projects in the pipeline around the rest of the UK.
