Job Description

Principal Engineer - Propulsion & DrivetrainWe are looking to hire a Principal Engineer with experience of developing Automotive Drivetrain and Engine Development programmes. You will have expertise within Diesel Engine Propulsion systems across Automotive, Marine or Aerospace markets, combining a blend of design development skills, programme implementation and people motivational skills.MIDLANDS BASED - Full relocation support for the right applicantStoke, Stafford, Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Coventry, Nottingham, Northampton, Oxford, Swindon££ Competitive Salary + High Level Benefits + Ongoing Personal Development

  • A passion for engineering and vehicle drivetrain development.
  • Degree educated with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, especially understanding data and precise data analysis.
  • Ideally experienced in propulsion systems, component specification and design / development.
  • Experience of engine development within a tier 1 transmission manufacturer or an OEM across automotive, agricultural, gas turbine, aerospace or truck and Commercial Vehicle / Bus applications. This would be of great interest.

  • Excellent project management and supplier integration skills with strong commercial awareness.
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver results through team management and project delivery.
  • Ability to work to exceptionally tight deadlines.
  • Clear communicator with the gravitas to engage at all levels.
  • Excellent people facing skills is a key requirement due to the complexity of the project work.
  • Flexible attitude, able to travel nationally and internationally when allowed and required.
  • Must be able to be Midlands based in the UK.
