Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance ManagerJob Location: Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, UKSalary: Up to £50k plus benefitsJob Purpose: Stoke Operations Limited (SOL) are an Operation and Maintenance (O&M) service provider who have been awarded a 5-year agreement to operate and maintain a new clinical waste incinerator Facility, located near Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. The Facility is owned by Clinitek (Stoke) LLP and will process up to 16000 tonnes of clinical waste per annum whilst generating electricity for export. SOL is a subsidiary of Cobalt Energy Limited (CEL) who are a renowned thermal renewables and environmental engineering, service provider. CEL have been established for over a decade and have been successfully operating in the renewable power generation sector throughout this period.SOL is looking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to oversee the safe and reliable maintenance of the new Facility. The Maintenance Manager will be employed during the construction phase of the project to ensure Facility assets and process knowledge is established. They will report to the Plant Manager during the construction phase and will support the delivery of all recruitment, training, and O&M deliverables (especially those associated with maintenance) before Facility Takeover. Thereafter the Maintenance Manager will continue to report to the Plant Manager and will take responsibility for the Facility maintenance strategy, implementation, enactment, and improvement.The Maintenance Manager will ensure that all Facility assets and maintenance systems, processes and procedures are contractually and legally compliant and are thus managed and operated, effectively and efficiently.This is a senior management role within a very successful and progressive Company Group and one that can offer great career prospects.Job Duties:

  • Daily management of the Facility maintenance team and Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), thus ensuring the planned maintenance of equipment is carried out in accordance with the maintenance schedule and to the required specification.
  • Managing reactive maintenance and thus managing change; to eliminate chronic, and reduce acute, delays.
  • Forward planning and managing plant outage maintenance, and inspections in-line with PSSR and lifecycle requirements.
  • Managing and controlling works on all mechanical and electrical assets.
  • Ensuring the completion of all relevant documentation and reports in-line with health, safety, environmental and quality, facility systems.
  • Selection, monitoring and supervision of 3rd party contractors.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out with the highest regard and compliance to statutory and regulatory health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Fostering and promoting a strong health, safety, environmental and quality culture for all employees and visitors.
  • To work a regular dayshift, 40 hours per week, and support out-of-hours reactive maintenance as required.
  • Work closely with other companies within the Company Group.
  • Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
  • Preferably a relevant and advanced engineering qualification or time-served with extensive knowledge, understanding, and experience.
  • Maintenance management experience of at least 3 years, ideally in a similar incineration/power generation environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance management systems and improvement tools and their implementation.
  • Knowledge and experience of Safe Working Procedures (SWP)s, Risk Assessments (RA)s, permit systems, isolations and their implementation and operation.
  • Knowledge and experience of QHSE management systems, implementation and continuous improvement and their relationship to the relevant laws and regulations.
  • Team development to include, recruitment, performance management, coaching and supervision.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, WAMITAB, etc., qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • You must have the drive and motivation to be successful in leading and working-in a skilled power generation team.
