FTTP Design LeadLocation: Stoke on TrentPackage in the region of £60,000 plus benefitsThis is a really interesting opportunity and its taken quite a bit of creative thinking to nail down a description for the role - which possibly hints to the hybrid style nature of what we are looking for.To give an overview, the company are building a new FTTX network in the Stoke on Trent region and its very much a client and contractor partner style delivery environment. The planning has been outsourced (offshore) but we are looking to recruit someone inside the business that will be the SME when it comes to the design and deployment of a fibre access network so on that basis, we need the blend of technical background alongside the 3rd party contract management responsibility. The network is being built and deployed from scratch but working on the client side, this is a well funded new entrant to the market and the network will be geared towards SME customers, residential and public sector. Most job specifications will talk about opportunity but this one is highly likely to become a more senior position and we thinking for now, its someone with the proven FTTP design track record who has that ability to evolve and wants to be more than a planner / designer for the rest of their days and also strictly doesnt simply want to become a planning manager. To give an outline, these would be our key areas:* Must have a very detailed understanding of FTTP methodologies, products, architecture and design principles* Thorough understanding of NRSWA, noticing, permitting and traffic management* Whilst not conducting designs must be able to approve, peer review and quality check design outputs to assure best practice, design rules and commercial rules are adhered to* Comfortable driving overseas design resource and ensuring design production timelines are met* Desirable to have good working knowledge of industry systems and applications with a view to inputting into the company systems road map Skilled in developing robust metrics and control plans to monitor and track benefit realisation and process efficiency during implementation phases.* Highly experienced in scoping / re-scoping projects and managing resources, activities and time.* Ability to design and implement effective workflow and reporting procedures* First-rate stakeholder and supplier management skills with the ability to communicate well with partners and management.* Aptitude to maintain composure and professionalism in pressurised / crisis situations.* Ensured all designs complied with guidelines.* Undertook statistical analysis of key design data.* Manage solutions for problems arising in OSP / ISP relating to Fibre.* Monitored new solutions and technologies to identify potential beneficial solutions.A lot of the role will come down to who you are and want you want to do, but we are coming at this with an open mind so if you have a story to tell by way of FTTX planning in the UK and ideally have that management background of 3rd party planning resource then lets have a conversation as we believe this is a position that in a couple of years could well be working on a national basis.Initial project focus is Stoke on Trent but with further cities to follow shortly. Flexible working alongside being on patch is an option. Required skills
