We have an exciting opportunity available for a Field Surveyor to join our team. You will need to live in a specified location or be willing to relocate to an agreed area before joining OS or on completion of initial training, and you will work from home, with a suitable workspace. You may have a degree/similar qualification, or equivalent surveying experience, or have a passion to be part of this industry.We want you to join us in our continuous drive for improvement. As an OS Field Surveyor, youll plan, collect, assess, edit and maintain geospatial information using relevant survey methods to meet customer requirements.What were looking for in our Field Surveyor:- A relevant geospatial information industry qualification or work experience e.g. geomatics/land surveying/geographic information systems (GIS)- Experience of data capture and edit platforms for measured survey/data collection e.g. total stations, GPS/GNSS, ruggedised PCs/tablets- Experience working outdoors in all weathers and conditions- Good spatial awareness- Good IT skills, especially using geographic information systems (GIS)- A good learner with a desire to continuously improve- Good communication and problem-solving skills- Good organisational skills, good at working independently- A good team player, particularly as part of a dispersed team- The ability to travel, with some overnight stays in Great Britain, and potentially overseas- A full driving licenseClosing date: Sunday 1st August 2021Our National Mapping Services production team captures, maintains, manages and delivers the most detailed location data in England, Scotland and Wales. Every day we make 20,000 updates to our master map of Great Britain, which holds 500 million geospatialfeatures.
