Job Description

Were recruiting on behalf of one of the largest provider of industrial automation control equipment in the world.They recognise that their employees are at the heart and soul of their success and as such value each and every employee.As a repair technician, you will be responsible for repairs of industrial units with the main focus being on drives, however you will also repair PCBs, timers and counters down to component level, using good soldering and troubleshooting skills.You will also be responsible for the testing of the functionality of each unit repaired, order parts as necessary and enter notes on each repair into the computer system.This role would suit individuals with an electronic background and if you have a HNC/HND Electronic qualification then you would likely hold all of the skills that we are looking for.What youll need:

  • Previous experience working in a similar repair environment with good soldering skills.
  • Ability to understand wiring schematics and fault find electrical circuits.
  • Recognised electrical / electronic engineering qualification.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced environment.
Role Details:
  • Salary: Up to £30,000 (DOE) + Monthly Commission plan
  • Working Hours: MondayFriday (08:00am17:00am)
  • 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • As the Repair Technician, you will be expected to solder to a high level and troubleshoot down to component level, using a range of test equipment (Oscilloscope, Multi-meter, and Function Generator)
  • The role involves approximately 90% bench level electronic and electro-mechanical, and 10% documentation of actions taken on each item and communication of completions, using the CRM system.
  • Order parts if necessary to assist with repair using the CRM system.
  • Clean, check, service and test repaired items, ensuring the unit functions correctly and fit for purpose. Where a unit doesnt match those vital credentials, advise accordingly to the Repair Supervisor.
