Job Description

Our client who is a leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery for manufacturing companies throughout the UK. Due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Electrical / Mechanical Engineer.The successful applicant will assist with workshop based electrical wiring, control panel and machine build & assembly activities as well as attending some breakdown and repair activities in field.The Role:Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for undertaking electrical and mechanical engineering duties associated with the build / assembly of a wide range of machinery including machine tools, recycling and packaging equipment. Duties will include but is not limited to the maintenance service and repair of the following;

  • Assist with workshop based electrical panel building, wiring new equipment
  • Single and 3 -phase electrical fault find and repair
  • Mechanical assembly, fault find, maintenance and repair
  • Motors, inverters, contactors, sensors, relays,
  • Hydraulics, pneumatic controls
  • Machine installation maintenance and repair
  • The role will be workshop based however there will be a requirement to do attend occasional site breakdowns.Candidates:The successful candidate will be an electrical bias engineer with good 3-phase electrical wiring, fault find and repair skills.You will be an experienced electrical fitter ideally with previous experience in machine building, maintenance, service and repair of rotary machinery.Applicants with NVQ 3 in electrical / mechanical engineering preferred and candidates with 17th/18 Edition certification would have advantage however all applicants will be considered.Hours of Work:Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pmBenefits:Competitive salary negotiable + OTExcellent career progression opportunities28 days annual leavePension Required skills
