Location: Harplands Hospital, ST4 6RRFull time - varied hours between 8.00 - 20.00 hoursMonday to Sunday 5 over 7 days.Salary: £9.49 per hour plus enhancements for night shifts or weekend work.As the Domestic Assistant, you will be responsible for infection control through cleaning and maintaining the work area in line with work schedules in an efficient manner, ensuring a safe environment for all.Duties will include cleaning floors, work surfaces,furnishings and related equipment. You will empty, dispose and replace clinical and domestic waste as directed and that all equipment and materials required to perform all cleaning tasks are maintained in a hygienic and safe condition across the wards, includingbedroom and bathroom areas. Hospital cleaning is a vital part of overall health and safety, as its a major contributor to controlling the spread of infections.You will also be responsiblefor setting tables, using a probe thermometer to check internal food temperatures and serving patients three meals per day, in addition to any drinks and snacks required, ensuring the tea trolley is always topped up. You willliaise with the nurses and catering staff regarding numbers of patients and any special food requirements, to guarantee patients are provided with the correct meals. You may also help and supportpatients in choosing their food and drinks where necessary andclean up any dishes after meals.Please be aware that this is a fast paced and busy environment, hospitals require a lot of work to ensure patients are safe and supportteam assistant roles require a lot of physical and manual work.About youYou will be interacting daily with patients whilst also maintaining a clean and infection free environment.
