We deliveroperations, consulting and technology solutions across the risk and insurance value chain, including excellence in claims, underwriting, distribution, regulation, customer experience, human capital, transformation & change management.Our global team of more than 5,000 professionals operate across the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada & Bermuda.The role of the Desktop Support Engineer is to deliver a high level of customer service to our customers on Davies Group supported devices, computer applications and platforms. Taking ownership and responsibility for the build, configuration, and deliveryof equipment to staff across the business. Including but not limited to new starters, leavers and desktop refresh projects with occasional desk side hardware support for on-site staff.Ensuring all work carried out is recorded within the service management tool meeting departmental KPIs and SLAs.There may be travel to various Davies office locations to provide technical support as necessary (Covid dependant), so a full UK driving licence would be required.Working Hours5 day working week with an 8-hour shift; 08:00 to 16:30Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and handle new desktop / laptop computers and prepare for build.
  • Ensure all replacement devices are working correctly before user sign off
  • End to end software application install.
  • Record keeping of assets for audit purposes.
  • Ensure build process followed and updated, improve where required.
  • Escalate any build issues to 3rd line team or management.
  • Adhere to all service management principles.
  • The ability to think logically, meet deadlines and effectively prioritise workload according to the needs of the customers and SLAs.
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills combined with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders and employees.
  • Continue to develop technical skills and broaden technical knowledge relevant to the supported systems.
  • Share best practice and promote innovation.
  • Promote continuous improvement mindset across all areas of Group IT.
  • Share knowledge with Team members to bolster the IT Servicedesk overall knowledge.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Use of SCCM or similar for image / software deployment.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows platforms.
  • Unified comms platforms e.g. Teams, Skype for Business.
  • Understanding of PC hardware diagnosis, set-up and configuration.
  • Flexible approach and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience of working within regulated businesses.
  • Full Driving Licence and access to own transport.
