Job Description

Deputy Manager - Homelessness Male SchemeSalary £25,000 a yearLocation Stoke-on-Trent, StaffordshireHours per week 37.5Contract type PermanentThe roleAs Deputy Manager at our 24/7 male service, youll manage a team of Duty Practitioners and Waking Night Workers to provide consistency for customers from first referral to move-on. Youll build positive relationships with community partners and Concreteteams to make sure customers receive the best possible support.Job requirements:

  • Lead the team at the 24/7 male supported accommodation service.
  • Lead on referrals into the scheme and work with external agencies to meet the needs of new customers.
  • Support with recruitment at the service. Induct any new staff and support the continuous development of existing staff members.
  • Use up-to-date UK housing legislation knowledge to provide advice on training, employment and other related issues to staff and customers.
  • Support the Service Manager to achieve service objectives.
  • Act as a positive role model at the service and make sure all work is carried out in accordance with Concretes aims and values.
What were looking for:
  • Experience within the homelessness, supported housing and/or complex needs services sector.
  • Experience supporting people at risk, including those who are homelessness and/or formerly homeless, to identify personal goals.
  • Experience of day-to-day management/supervision or demonstratable willingness to develop management skills.
  • A working knowledge of UK housing law within a hostel environment.
  • Organised with good attention to detail and good IT and communication skills.
  • Able to work flexibly and outside normal office hours to meet team, customer and business needs. This includes taking part in the management on-call rota.
