Job Description

Data Governance Specialist - 6 month contract position - INSIDE IR35Stoke based - 2 days in office per week Gleeson Recruitment Group are working with a leading Utilities organisation based in Stoke on Trent who are looking for a Data Governance Specialist to join them in their growth and transformation.Role Purpose:The Data governance specialist will aid with the implementation and roll out of the data governance tooling Erwin and provide focus to allow the Modern Data warehouse project implementation to create the important data management and governanceprocesses it requires to be successful. The Data governance specialist will also be responsible for initiating a data governance council, defining new process and procedures around data governance including data issues and quality.Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for shaping and delivering Erwin within the organisation. (Erwin experience is a must).
  • Defining how Erwin will be used within the data team and wider business. Understand, document, and populate the business glossary.
  • Develop a data catalogue to document data used in the new Data platform.
  • Define the principles, policies, processes for data governance and assurance of data in the Modern Data Platform. Supporting wider Data Governance efforts through the adoption of Data Management Processes including Data Quality and Metadata Management forthe modern data platform Formulating data management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
  • Providing support to the project through the definition of standards, policies and guidelines that relate to the Data Management and governance in the modern data platform.
Experience needed:
  • Strong background in data management and analysis Experience with data management tools and techniques, hand on experience with Erwin Data Intelligence.
  • Experience with data quality tools and technologies
  • Have up to date knowledge of evolving demands of a modern data platform.
  • Practical experience of the implementation of data stewardship, including master data management, data quality, and data dictionaries and glossaries
