Job Description

Customs ManagerStoke-on-Trent£35,000 - £40,000 DOE + BenefitsRole ProfileOur client is a market leading Logistics business who are looking to recruit a Customs Manager to oversee their expanding Customs/Export team within their growing operation based in Stoke-on-Trent. Reporting to the Head of Distribution, you will be responsible for ensuring that all operational Customs and Export regulations are adhered to.Key Responsibilities:

  • The achievement of a successful end-to-end shipping process.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of customer service, ensuring Customs compliance within the team
  • Resolving any areas of non-compliance and solving problems in an effective and timely manner
  • Managing and motivating the team with effective and open communication, to ensure that they achieve their targets.
  • Understand and implement Company policies, procedures and practices in order to correctly manage the team and the business being operated and managed within that team
  • Develop strong working knowledge and relationships within the organisation - possess strong networking skills
    • Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience working in a similar role is advantageous
  • Have a good understanding of Customs legal requirements and the impact or incorrect information and/or Customs declarations
  • Work in a fast-paced environment ensuring clearance processes are completed in a complaint and timely manner
  • Excellent numerical skills are essential due to the calculation of VAT and Duty on behalf of HMRC
