Job Description

Credit Control ClerkHanley, Stoke-on-Trent9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday (35 hours per week).£22K with potential to earn bonus of c£2,000pa About my clientMy client is a Global company that has developed, produced, and sold their products for more than 85 years making then the leading independent supplier in the UK and Europe. They now have an opportunity based in their Stoke on Trent site to recruit a CreditControl Clerk on a full time permanent basis. This is great opportunity to join a small and friendly team and make a impact in a crucial role within the finance team.Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain own ledger of customer accounts.
  • Pro-actively chasing debt by telephone and email.
  • Responsible for setting up new customer accounts, as well as reviewing existing accounts on a regular basis.
  • Evaluate credit status of customers to identify suitable credit levels.
  • Collection of all debts and customer payments
  • Responding to and resolving invoice queries
  • Producing consolidated invoices & invoice exceptions for customers.
  • Timely and effective collection of debts and customer payments
  • Meeting set targets.
  • Assist with developing and improving customer relations.
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks as required, within the remit of maintaining and improving the overall functioning of the credit control department.
  • Dealing with necessary legal actions, e.g., Solicitors, Bad Debts.
  • Dunning (chasing outstanding documents)
  • Any other ad-hoc duties required.
The ideal candidate
  • Previous experience working within a credit control position.
  • Experience of using an ERP system is a distinct advantage but not a necessity
  • Excellent customer service.
