Job Description

Cost AccountantAre you an experienced Cost AccountantOr a Management Accountant with a strong knowledge of manufacturingH2 Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with an established manufacturing and supply business in the heart of Stoke on Trent currently experiencing a 5-year period of impressive growth.As the Cost Accountant you will be an integral part of a team of 6. You will have a great level of exposure to the wider business and have the autonomy to drive and lead on key improvements.Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will interact with our manufacturing, logistics, purchasing and commercial teams daily, ensuring that they have accurate data to make informed decisions with.This business offers benefits including 25 days holiday + bank holidays, an enhanced pension and a discretionary bonus!Main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Responsible for all areas of accounting around stock, including inventory valuations at closing.
  • Preparing sales and profitability analysis
  • Understand major drivers on the cost base
  • Analyse manufacturing variances
  • Produce inventory reports.
  • Review material costs for inconsistencies, including PPV
  • Forecasting rolling 12 months to gross margin level.
  • Support PI counts, stock variances and receipting issues within manufacturing.
  • Support warehouse stock location management and analysis of production reporting
  • Establish recovery rates per machine/product type
  • Track daily sales and margin per customer/product type
  • Refine and build models to ensure accuracy of reported data into the business
Experience Required
  • At least 2-3 years working within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong costing and stock experience preferred.
  • A confident communicator who can build relationships with the wider organisation quickly.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo
  • Excel IT skills
  • Experience using ERP systems (Microsoft General Plains an advantage but not essential)
Qualifications Required
  • Ideally qualified CIMA or ACCA, although QBE candidates will be considered.
