Youd like to be based on local contracts and join a growing business with a history and reputation spanning 50 years.If youre ambitious, want a path to senior management and enjoy complete autonomy, this could be the opportunity for you.BASIC SALARY: Up to £60,000BENEFITS: Performance related Bonus Car / Car allowance 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays Pension 6% Employer / matched Employee Medical InsuranceLOCATION: Stoke-on-TrentCOMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stone, Stafford, Rugeley, Cannock, Wolverhampton, Telford, Shrewsbury, Burton-upon-Trent, Derby, Uttoxeter, Leek, Crewe, Nantwich, Congleton, Macclesfield, Northwich, Chester, Knutsford, Wilmslow,Stockport, Warrington.JOB DESCRIPTION: Contracts Manager, Works Manager, Project Manager or Site Manager - groundworks, construction.Responsible for managing 2-3 projects at any one time, as our Works Manager / Contracts Manager / Project Manager, youll travel to each project site to regularly review progress, check quality of work and liaise with customers to make sure that each schemeis delivered to the highest quality, on time and to budget.Our customers are mostly local, so youll be home every evening (no more travelling miles or having to stay away overnight). Although we are known as tarmac experts, your projects will be varied both in duration, ranging anywhere from 2-16 weeks on averageand will cover our complete range of services, including:Roads, Car Parks & Estate Management Public Highways, Footpaths & Crossings Drives & Dropped Kerbs Specialist Surfacing Groundworks & General Civil Engineering External Works & LandscapingWithin these projects youll be responsible for the management of all on-site operations. As such youll cover measuring & ordering, contracts, stock delivery, team leadership, quality and time performance, Health & Safety, customer communication, fleet managementand ultimately, ensuring that everything runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.PERSON SPECIFICATION: Contracts Manager, Works Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager - groundworks, construction.To be successful as our Works Manager / Contracts Manager / Project Manager, youll have a proven management track record from within the highways or civil construction industry, having spent time at either a main contractor or at sub-contractor level.Youll be a great people manager, enjoy customer contact and be brilliant at thinking on your feet to solve problems.Its highly likely that youll be educated to degree level (or HNC) and come from a construction or civil engineering background. An engineer at heart, you may have spent time as a Quantity Surveyor, an Agent or a Sub-Agent.
