The Role: Build Engineer (FTTP)Location: Stoke on TrentPackage: £45k & Vehicle (L200 style pick up truck)Overview:We are looking to recruit a telecoms build engineer / senior civil supervisor for a client side FTTP build programme across Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire. Youll be joining the build from an early stage and this is a great chance to set expectation and then drive the build forward for a well funded, infrastructure provider who will build and own the network from scratch. Reporting to the build manager, youll manage the contract partners and drive operational performance on a new FTTP build programme in conjunction with the local council around the Stoke area. They have live customers at the moment but the build isnt yet 5% of the way through so still plenty to do.This will be a mixture of business and residential and will involve a lot of work in conjunction with local authority by way of overhauling the communications infrastructure to all public assets, so should be both secure, long term and offer plenty of variety. This is FTTP and as such, youll likely be a known figure in the build industry and come with the ability to act decisively, hit the ground running and own all aspect of civils build and delivery within a client and contractor, NRSWA environment. This is essential, so a proven track record in telecoms civils / fibre build is a must and this role is a permanent position working for the client / service provider. The model represents the way forward - its open access alongside the local authority and is jointly funded so offers stability, growth and due to the local authority partnership, can offer a solution to the red tape often associated with build programmes.Youll direct and manage all aspects of performance, and be a strong KPI driven manager who can use the data to assess what is working and what is not, performance wise.Office based and in the field, so youll need to be on the patch through the working week which means commuting range to the general Staffordshire area.Responsibilities:You`ll be working in the project team responsible for the network delivery of full fibre solutions and you`ll be responsible for the build (And some of the project) management of the build and delivery of the fibre in the ground network. The company are embracing modern build techniques and have good relationships with the civils partners but if you come with your own network of contacts from around the industry, the chance will likely be there to bring some of those partners on board as well as the work is ramping up.This is going to be a fast moving, roll out but with a strong eye on quality, so you should be well versed in a similar telecoms environment and you`ll be able to point to a track record of delivering on time and within budget.Well funded, new entrant into the UK market but a leading player around Europe, so offers the chance for a build engineer / lead civils supervisor to join the patch early, play a part in the scalability and process and then hopefully be in a strong position in the coming months and years as they continue to grow in the UK.Job KeywordsFTTP, FTTC, FTTX, Project Manager, Build, NRSWA, Civils, CDM, Fibre Required skills
