Job Description

As an Occupational Therapist, you change lives for the better. Join the multidisciplinary team in Stoke-on-Trent and help people build a brighter future.You will be working 37.5 hours a week at Adderley Green, which consists of two units. Moorcroft Manor is a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service, while Gladstone House is a specialist inpatient unit for people over 65living with complex dementia.As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will work across all units at Adderley Green where you will be supported by the experienced Occupational Therapy department as you assess and provide treatments to people with complex care requirements, including prolongeddisorder of consciousness and tracheostomy care, neurobehavioural, neuro palliative and slow stream rehabilitation.You will deliver 1:1 sessions, therapeutic groups and a joint session with the wider team where you will empower recovery and promote independence to support long-term management of their conditions.With a strong emphasis on teamwork, youll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.Other responsibility:

  • Non-clinical, including audits, service development and delivering educational sessions
  • Oversee complex discharge planning, casting, splinting and assessing occupational performance
  • Assessing and identifying treatment plans for those in prolonged disorders of consciousness, and cognition and behaviours
  • Participate in care planning, goal setting and will contribute to reviewing reports
To be successful in this role:
  • Current HPC registration and BOAT membership
  • Experience of working within a similar setting
