Job Description

Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge, where you can be a part of meaningful change Join Adderley Green Care Centre and feel valued and support as you support people build a brighter future.Adderley Green is a neurological care centre providing specialist care and rehabilitation to those with a wide range of neurological conditions. You will work across the units within Adderley Green, which covers complex care (including prolonged disorderof consciousness and tracheostomy care), neurobehavioral, neuro palliative and slow stream rehabilitation.You will be supported by an experienced Occupational Therapist to be able to assess and provide treatment to our residents. You will be responsible for the assessment and management of residents to promote their independence and support long term managementof their condition.As an Occupational Therapist, you will create individual rapports to design and deliver facilitated evidence-based group and individual programmes based on their needs and interest to ensure they engage in their care plans.With a strong emphasis on teamwork, youll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with patient/s.
  • Complex discharge planning, casting and splinting, assessing occupational performance as well as cognition and behaviour and assessing those in prolonged disorders of consciousness to identify level of awareness and compiling appropriate treatment plans
  • Actively implement evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard.
  • Establish effective communication with patients and their cares, all staff and other agencies.
  • Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery
  • To fulfil a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HPC regulations.
  • Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Registered OT with Dip COT qualification or degree
  • Member of British Association of Occupational Therapy
  • Experience in working with Forensic patients.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the Occupational Therapy process in mental health or neurological settings
  • Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising OT staff and students
