Job Description

ATEX EngineerOur prestigious client, who is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket emissions components in the UK, based in Cheadle, Staffordshire is recruiting for ATEX Engineers to join their already up and running team. The business offers a range of over 10,000 premiumcomponents, available with next morning delivery in vast majority of the UK. Parts offered include exhausts, catalytic converters (CATs), diesel particulate filters (DPFs), mountings and accessories - all of which are designed to match or exceed the applicationperformance of the equivalent OE part.We are currently recruiting for an experienced ATEX Engineer, based at the Cheadle site with usual days/noons, week about two shift pattern. There will be a requirement of some local offsite working on a pre-arranged or out of hours callout basis.What you will need for this ATEX Engineer role:Essential

  • ATEX Qualified
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent
  • General level education GCSE/O level or equivalent, ONC/HNC or equivalent
  • Hold a UK driving licence
  • Good communication skills
  • Working knowledge of industrial machinery
  • Familiarity with CNC and PLC controlled equipment
Preferred
  • Experience of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical practices
The main tasks of the role are outlined below:
  • Fault finding during production
  • Performing planned and predictive maintenance
  • Assessing need of spare parts
  • Undertake effective planning and prioritisation of workload wherever necessary. Ensure that resources are used to optimum effect
  • Understand and operate in line with relevant legislation, Company policy and Company procedures
  • Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business
  • Maintain the required standards of housekeeping
  • Support other teams and functions as required by the business
  • Undertake self-development activities as required by the business
  • Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by your line manager
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company
  • Conforming to health and safety procedures and policies
Qualities you will need to have for this ATEX Engineer role :
  • ATEX qualified
  • Previous experience of working in similar environment with similar role responsibilities
  • A good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes and technology
  • Demonstrate ability to support teams internally and externally, to ensure effectiveness in line with the needs of the business
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and prioritise workload in order to meet required deadlines and performance standards
  • Demonstrate the ability of being able to maintain and improve effective working practices, use of facilities and materials etc
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards work and is able to respond to business priorities appropriately Effective communication skills that allows the individual to communicate internally and externally, at all levels Able to pass on knowledge to otherteam members and apprentices
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain and improve levels of housekeeping and health and safety standards
  • Previous experience of working towards improving and maintaining quality standards
  • Familiar with all types of Factory equipment and associated plant
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to problem solve in highly production based environment
  • Able to play a key role in the continuing improvement of the factory equipment and maintenance
  • Familiar with planned and preventive maintenance
  • Safe handling materials
