Job Description

Accountant x 7Stoke-on-Trent City Council are currently undergoing an ambitious transformation across their services and are partnering with Castlefield to support this exciting change. After successfully adding a number of driven individuals as part of the initial phaseof the transformation, we are now looking for an additional 12 candidates with the ambition and determination to continue this journey and become influential members of a forward-thinking finance team.As part of this transformation, Stoke are looking to identify 7 Accountants across a range of key areas including Capital Projects, Housing Revenue Accounts, Commercial, Tax, Assets, and Service Finance. With excellent benefits and opportunities forinternal progression, you will play an integral role in helping drive positive change across the city of Stoke.The Accountant posts will work as part of a developing commercially focussed team to provide financial and commercial advice to a range of services and transformational projects across the Council. Responsibilities include;

  • Taking a proactive approach in managing and delivering robust accounting services
  • Supporting the delivery of an integrated financial planning process by the provision of high quality, accurate, timely and relevant information
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that robust financial controls are in operation and that financial risk is understood
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for business improvements and efficiencies
  • Ensuring a culture of continuous improvement, looking to add value within a first-class business partnering service
The successful candidate;
  • CCAB/CIMA qualified Finance professional with evidence of continuing personal development. Qualified by Experience candidate with appropriate experience will also be considered.
  • Proven track record in developing influential working relationships at a range of levels
